How to avoid arguments with your better half

The lockdown started in March and it’s almost been over three months all of us are at home. Now being at home comes with its own challenges. While all of us love spending time with our family members it can get very overwhelming at the same time which can result in having arguments. I am no different than all of you. I too have a lot of arguments these days with my better half but after a point both of us realize that it’s because both of us are frustrated with work pressure, so much to think about the future where there is hardly any clear picture that we can see. So the least we can do is try to stay calm.

Specially when you live in a nuclear family set up where it’s only the both of you and your child, the first person to be affected by your arguments is your own child. We don’t realize the kind of trauma it sends a child into but it really does affect a child in a very negative way. Now I’m not saying that we should absolutely change ourselves in one day but we can always try and work on ourselves and at least avoid having any arguments or heated discussions in front of the child.

As adults, we also need to work on ourselves constantly. We are humans and we make mistakes. Even if there is a heated argument we should always give each other space, sit and talk calmly. Though it is better said than done but this can be always worked upon.

Kids are sensitive and we should let them be that way. It’s hard for them to understand why people are frustrated. Almost 3 months of being jailed in their own houses children already suffering a lot, let’s not add up to the stress for them.

If you agree to this point then do let me know in the comments below. Also, before you leave don’t forget to check out my latest post right here.
